Ho Chi Minh City Participates in Darwin Fusion: Expanding Opportunities for Tourism Promotion and Cooperation

From May 18 to 25, 2025, Ho Chi Minh City Delegation officially traveled to Australia and participate in the “Darwin Fusion 2025” and, showcasing the city’s vibrant tourism potential and seeking new avenues for Asia-Pacific cooperation.

Darwin Fusion, hosted annually by the Northern Territory Government, celebrated cultural diversity and cross-border partnerships through art performances, thematic seminars, business networking sessions, and tourism-trade promotion programs. Participants included representatives from governments, tourism boards, universities, and private enterprises across Asia-Pacific, including Vietnam.

The event is a platform for cities, organizations, and international businesses to present their image, potential, and partnership opportunities across diverse sectors such as culture and arts, community exchange, trade and investment, education and training, tourism and services, and innovation.

During the visit, the delegation met Ambassador of Vietnam to Australia and Consulate General of Vietnam in Sydney to reinforce economic, cultural, and tourism cooperation.

The delegation also participated in a series of 13 thematic roundtable discussions covering topics such as foreign policy, economic development, trade, tourism, and education. At these forums, Ho Chi Minh City shared valuable insights and extended invitations to Australian partners and travel agencies to enhance investment collaboration and tourism exchange.

Notably, the delegation conducted an official working session with the Darwin City Council to discuss potential areas of cooperation between the two cities. The Darwin government expressed strong interest in the International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City (ITE HCMC 2025) and affirmed its intention to attend the event, aiming to encourage tourism and commercial exchange.

In addition, Ambassador of Vietnam to Australia proposed that Ho Chi Minh City coordinate with Vietnamese and Australian tourism businesses to organize more bilateral tourism exchange programs, further strengthening friendly and cooperative relations between the two nations.

Ho Chi Minh City’s exhibition space at Darwin Fusion made a strong impression to international visitors, affirming the city’s dynamic and modern image on the global tourism map.
