HO CHI MINH CITY TO HOST THE “BOAT DOCK FLOWER MARKET” FOR TET BINH NGO 2026
The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has issued a plan to organize the “Boat Dock Flower Market” for Tet Binh Ngo 2026 along Binh Dong Street, serving residents and visitors during the Lunar New Year holiday.
According to the plan, the flower market will take place from February 2 to February 15, 2026 (corresponding to the 15th–28th days of the last lunar month) on Binh Dong and Nguyen Van Cua streets, Phu Dinh Ward. In particular, the Nghia Tinh Flower Street, located near the heritage house area on Binh Dong Street, will be open from February 12 to February 19, 2026 (from the 25th day of the last lunar month to the 3rd day of Tet Binh Ngo), creating a continuous cultural and scenic highlight during the festive period.

A Distinctive Southern Waterway Setting
The market space stretches along the Tau Hu Canal, harmoniously combining flower and ornamental plant displays on land with flower-laden boats along the canal, vividly recreating the traditional Tet atmosphere of Southern Vietnam. Two large ceremonial gateways will be installed at Nguyen Van Cua Street and Cao Xuan Duc Street, linking key sightseeing and experience areas throughout the venue.
A Series of Cultural and Artistic Activities
Cultural and artistic programs will take place from the evening of February 12 to February 15, 2026 at the main stage located at the intersection of Nguyen Van Cua and Binh Dong streets. The opening ceremony on the evening of February 12, 2026 will be broadcast live and feature lion–dragon dances, artistic performances, Don Ca Tai Tu (Southern traditional music), and the drum-beating ritual to officially open the festival, ushering in the vibrant spring atmosphere.
In the following days, community performances and Don Ca Tai Tu music will be staged on traditional ghe bau boats along the Tau Hu Canal, recreating the cultural lifestyle closely associated with Southern river life during Tet.
Traditional Tet Experiences and Artistic Decorations
The market area will be decorated with a variety of thematic installations, including Spring Colors by the Waterfront, Old Tet Corner – Binh Dong Wharf, the Boat Dock Flower Market space, Spring Flower Street, and Nghia Tinh Flower Street. An integrated artistic lighting system, decorations on Pedestrian Bridge No. 7, and the release of lotus-shaped lanterns along the Tau Hu – Ben Nghe Canal will further enhance the festive nightscape.
In addition to flower displays, the market will feature regional specialty booths, OCOP products, a food court, hands-on experiences in wrapping and cooking traditional banh tet, the Calligraphy Street, as well as competitions in calligraphy, artistic photography, and floral home decoration under the theme Spring Colors.

The “Boat Dock Flower Market” for Tet Binh Ngo 2026 is not only a familiar destination for purchasing Tet flowers, but also a vibrant cultural space that preserves and promotes the traditional Southern Vietnamese Tet values for both domestic and international visitors.
