In recent circumstance, the tourism industry in Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam is significantly recovering. In the first 10 months, HCMC has attracted 2.656.707 International tourists and 24.894.562 Domestic turns, reaching 105.578 billion VND in total revenue.

Continuing to promote those successes, contributing to raising the level of destinations, increasing length of stay and spending of tourists, the city’s tourism industry continues to coordinate with related industries to organize a series of welcome events new year: Tourism Week, Honoring Thu Ngu Flagpole Monument; The 2nd Ho Chi Minh City International Music Festival – Ho Do 2022, the 2nd Ho Chi Minh City Hot Air Balloon Festival and the 5th Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon, detail as below:

 

  • The largest International Marathon Event in Vietnam – The 5th Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon takes place from 9th to 11th December, 2022 with many impressive activities to mark the 5th anniversary of the year of tournament.
  • The event is expected to attract 14,000 leading local and international athletes, making it one of the tournaments with the largest number of foreign athletes participating.

  • To be recognized in the National competition system and a member of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races  (AIMS), achieved the fourth year IAAF certification, qualifying for athletes aged 40 and over to be points on the Wanda Abbott Marathon Major International Ranking System by age section.

  • The tournament route through the historical landmarks and well-known tourist spots of Ho Chi Minh City and the recently inaugurated Thu Thiem 2 bridge will bring exciting unique experiences for athletes.
  • The preparation for the races is tightly coordinated by the relevant departments, providing superior and safety  for the athletes throughout the race.
  • The event aims to preserve the environment and raise funds for the City Charity Funds.
