“Vietnam Night” – Where the Quintessence of Vietnamese Culture Reaches the World
The 19th Ho Chi Minh City International Travel Expo (ITE HCMC) 2025 has officially kicked off with an impressive opening event – the Vietnam Night Art Program with the theme “Flow of Quintessence”.
This event is not only a warm welcome to nearly 700 international delegates from 41 countries and territories, but also a cultural bridge, introducing the finest aspects of Vietnamese tourism and cuisine to friends from five continents.
At the Thiskyhall Convention Center, distinguished guests immersed themselves in the unique Vietnamese cultural, artistic, and culinary space.
“Flow of Quintessence” – A Profound Message from Ho Chi Minh City
In his opening speech, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, emphasized the meaning of the theme “Flow of Quintessence”. The flow of rivers, especially the Mekong River, is not only a source of life but also the wellspring of culture and history for many peoples. This message not only alludes to the inheritance and continuation of heritage values but also serves as an invitation for friendship, cooperation, and sustainable development.
Through this art night, Ho Chi Minh City wishes to present a new image: a modern, dynamic metropolis that still preserves its traditional identity. It is the leading economic-financial center of the country, and also an attractive, promising tourist destination.
Special Art Program at “Vietnam Night”
The “Vietnam Night” art program was meticulously staged, offering audiences an emotional journey of discovery:
- Shadow dance and music Mashup: The opening performances “Welcome Ho Chi Minh City” and “Come to the Vietnamese people – Hello Ho Chi Minh City” were a warm welcome, initiating a journey of cultural and tourism connection.
- Short film “Flow of Quintessence”: International guests enjoyed impressive images of Ho Chi Minh City, from heritage buildings to vibrant daily life, green tourism, and rapidly developing urban infrastructure.
- Martial arts musical performance “Quintessence of Culture”: This act transported the audience to the realm of heritage with a delicate combination of Cai Luong (reformed opera), Tuong Co (classical opera), music, and dance.
- Ao Dai performance “Quintessence of Heritage”: The fashion collection inspired by traditional craft villages such as shell handicraft, lacquerware, and ceramics painted a vibrant and profound picture of Vietnamese culture.
Vietnamese Cuisine: A Journey of Cultural Experience
Beyond art, cuisine at “Vietnam Night” was also a special highlight. Vietnamese cuisine was introduced as a cultural journey, where each dish embodies historical depth and the sophistication of Vietnamese lifestyle.
The unique opening ceremony, pouring rice into an earthenware pot, not only symbolized prosperity but also wished for global connection and flourishing. Ho Chi Minh City had prepared the most exquisite menu, aiming to build an image of a diverse tourist destination with high-quality services.
ITE HCMC 2025: Towards Sustainable Tourism
The ITE HCMC 2025 International Travel Expo will take place from September 4 to 6 at SECC.
